Business Start-Up

Every business and company starts somewhere. Set up can make a significant difference to your success, enjoyment of the process and how much it costs you. Just ask our clients.

The process we typically follow with our clients from startup includes:

  1. Coffee and a donut, then....

  2. Decide: business or company and structure.

  3. Connect with a lawyer for legal documentation.

  4. Register either provincially or federally.

  5. Set up a CRA account.

  6. Register for GST, payroll, WCB and possible excise and PST.

  7. Determine your filing obligations.

  8. Set up an accounting software for ease of management, including integrated payroll, invoicing, banking, and more.

  9. Maintain the books monthly.

  10. File everything on time and avoid penalties.

If you have a great business idea, and are full of motivation but are not quite sure where to start, we are here to make the process efficient and as seamless as possible.

Grants

If you have employees and are a small-medium sized business, you may want access to some of the BC and federal funding provided through grants each year.

This is the process that we typically follow with our clients:

  1. Make a list of grants that relate to you; your industry and needs of the business.

  2. Research the prerequisites and requirements

  3. Shortlist those you want to apply for, prioritize by closing date and award amount.

  4. Prepare the application, submit and follow up.

  5. If approved, complete periodic reports as required.

If you would like to know more about the work we do with grants or the grants you may be eligible for, book a free consult with us.
